About Us
Teerapong Jaro (Mon) opened Karst Climbing in Ao Nang in April 2019. Mon has been climbing and working as a guide in Railay and Tonsai since 2006. He began climbing with his uncle Saree of Viking Climber, and fell in love with the sport. He moved to Tonsai to train under his uncle and dedicate himself to climbing and learning to guide. As a younger climber Mon tested his skills at some international climbing competitions but ultimately preferred a more laid back approach to climbing. He instead tested himself by climbing nearly every route in Railay and Tonsai. Over the years Mon has climbed at crags throughout Thailand and his international experience includes climbing trips to Austria, Laos, and China.
With more than a decade of experience, Mon decided to open Karst Climbing in Ao Nang with the motivation of providing the best quality of rock climbing instruction and adventure based on a passion for sharing an incredible experience with guests from around the world. As Karst Climbing grows, we look forward to welcoming more top-notch instructors to our team.

This was my first time climbing outdoors outside of Japan, and I had a very good experience with Karst Climbing. I was contacting them from Japan when I was planning the trip and chose them for their very prompt and honest responses. If I didn't choose Karst I don't think I was able to have the same level of experience as I had during this trip. Mon, the guide from Karst was very helpful in every way especially during the climbing where he gave me the exact advises that I needed. I will definitely choose Karst again for my next trip and hopefully at that time I have entered 7a or above grade. The service of taking the photographs and sharing them afterwards is very nice, I really appreciate it. See you next time!!

My partner and I went out with Mon for an all day climbing trip. Mon was fantastic. With great skill and lovely nature, he assessed us pretty quickly and accurately and catered to our capabilities perfectly. And challenged us to make it special. Was an awesome day. I can't recommend Karst Climbing enough. Meeki and James.

Had a really nice half day climbing with Mon! I have some outdoor climbing experience, but my bf didn't, so we choose a guide. It was really fun! And we got to belay each other (which we have experience in). Mon choose good routes for our level 🙂 Karst Climbing was fast to respond to emails + was on time for the pick up in the morning.

Mon is an extremely informative and friendly guide. The region is remarkable and the climbing is diverse. I highly recommend the full day trip because you get to rappel from a cave that’s far from the other tourists on the beach. 10/10 would climb with Karst Climbing again (and honestly I probably will before I leave Thailand).

I thoroughly enjoyed my top rope climbs and lead climbs/belays. My instructor knew how to pace the course and challenged me in a way that I can accomplish it. Completely recommended for those who have climbed before and for those who have not (there were some beginners who did very well too).
